BE THE IRON MAN
Real men know how to iron their shirts – join the iron club.
MOISTEN
It is a good idea to moisten the shirt slightly with water before ironing. You should not overdo that, however – the shirt should be slightly damp, not wet. If your iron has a steam generator, you can skip this step.
UNBUTTON
Remember to undo the buttons and spread the shirt carefully before you put it on the ironing board.
PROTECT
Put a cotton cloth on the ironed part of the shirt. This will reduce the risk of burning your shirt or making its fabric shine.
FROM PART TO WHOLE
Start by ironing the smallest parts of your shirt – the collar and the cuffs. Iron them first on the inside and then on the outside. Then follow this order: sleeves front back. Try to avoid making creases as you iron, and do not touch the buttons with the hot device. When you are done, put the shirt on a hanger.
